Our Story

A bakery built on
the rhythms of
the valley.

Studio 524 sits on Church Street in the heart of Sandpoint, where the morning light hits the display case just right and the smell of baking bread is its own kind of welcome.

We started with a simple idea: bake bread the old way — long-fermented sourdough, honest ingredients, no shortcuts — and pair it with the best of what this region produces. Every croissant is laminated by hand. Every jam is pressed from local fruit. Every loaf carries a starter that's been feeding us for years.

What We Make

The bread, the pastry,
the rest too.

Every item on our counter has a reason for being here. Here's what shows up first each morning.

Golden sourdough loaf with a deep ear

Sourdough Loaves

48-hour fermented, wild-culture crust with a crumb that holds together like it means it. Country, semolina, olive — rotating weekly.

Flaky golden croissants piled on a board

Butter Croissants

Seven layers of French butter, laminated by hand before dawn. Chocolate pain au chocolat and almond croissants follow the same rhythm.

Jars of house-made preserves and jams

Preserves & Pantry

Small-batch jams from Idaho fruit, honey from local hives, and a rotating selection of artisan staples sourced from across the region.

The Grocery

More than bread —
the whole table.

Behind the bakery counter is a small grocery curated the way we'd shop for ourselves: local dairy, seasonal produce, specialty oils, and the kind of pantry staples that make a weeknight dinner feel considered.

Dairy & Eggs

Local milk, cheese wheels, pastured eggs from nearby farms.

Seasonal Produce

What's ripe at the moment — berries in summer, squash in fall.

Pantry Essentials

Oils, vinegars, flours, grains, and spices chosen for quality over variety.

Coffee & Beverages

Fresh-roasted coffee, local cider, and seasonal drinks at the counter.
